It’s upstairs. There are sixteen wide steps with a fairly low riser and deep going. There is a handrail on the right hand side (going up). There are toilets upstairs but these are standard and not accessible toilets.
Lighting is what you’d expect from a live music venue. The focus of the lighting is on the stage area. The bar area at the back of the room has it’s own white lighting and is a little darker than natural daylight.
Despite being Grade II listed and rather old, the access to the gig space is OK. It’s level access through a double set of double doors that can be opened wide enough to get a wheelchair through. The bar area is up two steps. An alternative can be to go down the side of the pub into the courtyard and then there’s level access to the courtyard and the bar level. The toilets are standard and quite tight.
